Eybeschütz, Jonathan
( 1690, Cracovia, Polonia–1764, Altona, Dinamarca).

Rabino y sabio talmúdico polaco. Fue rabino en varias ciudades europeas y su erudición le permitió ganar un grupo de leales seguidores. Tenía fama de tener poderes místicos; cuando las mujeres de su congregación le pidieron que les diera protección para no morir en el parto, les ofreció amuletos que contenían una oración al falso mesías Shabbetai Tzevi. Un rabino alemán prominente, Jacob Emden (1697–1776), reprobó los amuletos. La disputa que surgió entre Emden y Eybeschütz dividió a la comunidad judía europea.
